Start with the fixed elements
Consider the roof, stone, pavers, landscaping, neighboring homes, and the amount of shade. A color that looks neutral on a sample card can feel much brighter in full Florida sun. Test larger samples on more than one wall and view them at different times of day.
Build a complete palette
Decide together on the body, trim, front door, garage door, and any shutters or railings. Record manufacturer, color name, code, product, and sheen. That prevents an attractive body color from clashing with details when the work begins.
Check your association’s process
Some Naples-area associations require architectural review or use approved color schemes. Requirements vary by community, including whether a same-color repaint needs review. Get the current rules from your own HOA or architectural review committee and secure any required written approval before scheduling.
Approve a physical sample
Computer screens and small chips are useful for narrowing options, but the final decision should be made from a physical sample in site lighting. Ask your painter whether sample application and any changes are included in the proposal.
